***** TIPS FOR ONLINE PORTAL USERS *******
- For first time use, you will have to click the blue sign up button and register with your email and create a password for your specific login. You will not need an access code to sign up for the online permitting portal, and leaving this part blank is okay.
- Please make the numeric part of address 6 digits by adding the appropriate number of zeros at the beginning of your address. Example - if you're address is 123 North Street, make your address 000123 North Street.
- If making address 6 digits doesn't work, please click below in small blue print writing that you'd like to enter in your parcel number instead. You can find your parcel number at the McDowell GIS website, here is the link to that website McDowell County NC WebGIS
- Once you have submitted your application, processing time and approval of your permit will depend on business hours and how many permits are ahead of your permit. Please note we do not process permits on holidays, weekends, or after we close.
- You do not have a valid permit until your permit has been paid for.
- When scheduling insepctions, due to traveling distances across the county, and each inspection's specific needs, we can not guarantee a specific time. Please specify in the scheduling notes if you would prefer a before 12:00 or after 12:00 appointment and the inspector will make every effort possible to accomodate your request.
